Since receiving a distinction for her MFA (University of Wales, Newport) in 2008, Dragana Jurisic was selected as an Axis MAstar in 2009, “An annual selection of the most promising artist from the UK’s leading MA courses”. In 2010 she was selected as a finalist in The Julia Margaret Cameron Award (a worldwide competition for women photographers), shortlisted for the The European Women's Lobby Photography Prize and The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize (National Portrait Gallery, London) and received the Arts Council of Ireland Travel and Training Award. She exhibited widely internationally and her exhibitions received a great critical acclaim. In 2011, her work will be shown in two solo exhibitions; in the Riverbank Art Centre, Newbridge, Ireland (April) and Droichead Arts Centre, Ireland (June), as well as 'Disruptive Stillness' in Jean Paul Slusser Gallery, University of Michigan (January), Wunderland, tactileBosch Gallery, Cardiff (March), PhotoIreland Festival (July) and The Julia Margaret Cameron Award Exhibition, The Palais de Glace, Buenos Aires, Argentina (August). Dragana's work is a part of the Irish State Art Collection and the University of Michigan collection, amongst others.
Dragana is currently working towards her Ph.D. at the European Centre for Photographic Research, UK.
